The front and rear bumpers are also new with new mirrors with integrated turn-indicators.
According to media reports, the 5-Seater Koleos crossover from Renault could be priced around 20 lakh rupees thus competing directly with SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner which has been the leader in this segment. Apart from this, the Koleos will be pitted against the Chevrolet Captiva and the Mitsubishi Outlander. Some features like hands-free entry and ignition, electronic parking brake, automatic headlights and wipers and Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control systems on the 4×4 version are expected in the product.
The company with its alliance partner Nissan manufactures vehicles at its Chennai Oragadam facility. Despite the slow start, the things have been moving pretty well for the automobile alliance of Renault-Nissan. It has been reported that the alliance plant in Oragadam has crossed a milestone achievement of rolling out one lakh units. The French automaker already has the Renault Fluence in its product portfolio for India. With the addition of two new products to its line-up including the Koleos, Renault India will be hoping to establish its foothold in the Indian market.
